With Southern Septic and Lift Station Corp., you’ll get a quick, thorough inspection and certification, so you won’t have to wait any longer than you absolutely have to to move into your new home!

How Does The Process Work?

The process works like any old septic tank inspection. Your Southern Septic and Lift Station Corp. will come to your property and look at every component and aspect of your septic system. First, we’ll find and uncover your septic tank. Then we’ll pump it out so that we can get a good view of the condition of the inside of the tank and its working components. At this point, we can begin the actual inspection. We’ll look at every component of your septic tank: the electrical and alarm control panel, the aerator unit, the dousing pump, etc.

We’ll also look at the visible condition and operation of the aerator line. Then, of course, we’ll check the condition of the tank’s inner walls. If everything is found to be in proper working order, we’ll certify your tank! The process takes little time, and in addition to your certification, you’ll also get the knowledge that your septic tank is in proper working order, so you can buy your new home with confidence!

I couldn’t be more satisfied with the work from Southern Septic. From the moment I called, the service was friendly, clear, and very professional. They scheduled the visit quickly and showed up right on time — something that’s hard to find these days. The team that came to my home was very efficient, careful with their work, and explained everything they were doing. They gave me honest recommendations for long-term septic maintenance without trying to upsell me on anything unnecessary. You can tell they truly care about doing the job right and making sure the customer feels informed and at ease. I will definitely hire them again and recommend them to all my neighbors.

Septic System Certifications FAQ

Septic system certifications for homes and businesses across Miami & Homestead near you

A septic system certification is an official document that confirms the condition and function of your septic system. It’s often required for real estate transactions, refinancing, or compliance with local health department guidelines.
Certification gives buyers, sellers, lenders, and local authorities confidence that the septic system is functioning properly and not posing environmental or health risks. This helps prevent surprises during property transactions.
A certification is usually required for home sales, refinancing, building permits, and sometimes for insurance. Local regulations in Miami-Dade County and Homestead may also require it periodically for compliance.
During a certification inspection, a technician will locate the tank, inspect the lid and baffles, measure liquid levels, assess the drainfield, check for leaks, and evaluate the overall system condition.
Most septic certifications can be completed in 1–2 hours, depending on system size and accessibility. After the inspection, the certification document is usually issued within 24–48 hours.
Costs vary based on the size of the system and any follow-up testing needed. We provide transparent pricing upfront so you know exactly what to expect before the inspection begins.
If issues are found, you’ll receive a detailed report outlining necessary repairs or maintenance. Once those are addressed, we can re-inspect and issue a new certification.
It depends on the condition of the system. If the tank is full or hasn’t been pumped in a long time, we may recommend pumping before inspection to ensure an accurate evaluation.
Yes. Once issued, a septic system certification can typically be transferred to the new homeowner — but always check with your real estate agent or lender to confirm local requirements.
In many cases, yes. We aim to complete inspections and provide certification documents as quickly as possible, often within the same day or next business day, depending on scheduling.
